Growing up in a small rural town and I never fit in, as a queer person growing up on a farm. I always dressed differently, acted “strangely”. While working on my family farm I would notice the little color shifts in the sunsets or in the leaves as the days grew shorter and cooler. When I was in middle school I picked up a camera and walked around finding interesting colors and textures on old farm equipment, then for high school I worked on a Turnpike plaza installation as the head student photographer. Working on this project helped open my eyes to the world around me and made me realize how I could use photography to show people my view through my lense by recording the things that made my community distinct. I fell in love with documenting and sharing my view of my surroundings. My goal is to show the world my perspective, through my lens. I strive to capture the looks and expressions in the studio where I’m adjusting lights and detailing how my model is standing the details of how light is hitting them, or with my documentary style photography where I'm trying to capture a candid moment and I only get one chance to get the perfect or nearest perfect I can. Photography has shaped my own style and fashion sense, helping me to use more color and patterns in my own clothes as well as my work. I have been focusing on studio lighting, posing, and editing. I want to show fashion and streetwear through my photos. I started photography as a way to show the colors, textures, and shapes that were hidden around my small town.
